Rwanda is a landlocked country located in Central/ Eastern Africa bordered by the Democratic Republic of Congo to the west, Uganda to the North, Tanzania to the East, and Burundi to the South.
The Republic of Rwanda lies 75 miles south of the equator in the Tropic of Capricorn, 880 miles ’as the crow flies’ west of the Indian Ocean and 1,250 miles east of the Atlantic Ocean – literally in the heart of Africa.
Rwanda has 26,338 square kilometers of which 3% is water; Rwanda is the world’s 149th-largest country.
The average daily temperature is around 75°F (24°C), easily reaching up the 80s°F (30s°C) and above in the drier months of the year.
Annual rainfall averages 800 millimeters but is generally heavier in the western and northwestern mountains than in the eastern savannas.
