Light University of Bujumbura

Light University of Bujumbura or the ULBU (Universite de Lumiere de Bujumbura) is a private academic institution located Avenue Mwezi Gisabo, Bujumbura.

It was authorized by the Minister of Education in his letter No. 610/NS/1245/2000 of 13 June 2000 to start its activities. The start was held September 25, 2000. The university mission is to provide training in intellectual, scientific, technical and moral level, provide students with practical training that can allow them to be able to serve immediately after graduation, educating students to the values of peace, tolerance, integrity and fairness, ensure the physical and cultural development of students and to conduct applied research to the socio-economic development of Burundi.

The Light University of Bujumbura aims to:

  • Provide intellectual, scientific, technical and moral level training
  • Provide students with practical training that can allow them to be able to use immediately after graduation;
  • Educating students to the values of peace, tolerance, integrity and fairness;
  • Ensure the physical and cultural development of students;
  • To conduct applied research in the socio-economic context of Burundi
