The private sector is still too small and its contribution to GDP is quite low. Investment opportunities are available in all sectors of the economy including sectors like agriculture, ICT, tourism, services, mining, fisheries, energy, forestry, transport, manufacturing, construction, real estate and others.
The government has created a conducive economic environment for attraction of investments and has made the attraction of investment as one of the priority areas. The investors are facilitated in setting up in the country through the one stop centre, Uganda Investment Authority. A package of investment incentives is already in place.
Uganda investment Authority
Uganda Investment Authority is a one stop for investors in Uganda. An investor is provided with all the information necessary in all sectors to make it easier for investor to make decisions. The Authority also assists investors during the registration process including identification of land required by the investor.
