Kibira Forest


Kibira National Park is located about 48 kilometers to the north east side of Bujumbura

The forest has about 98 species of mammal and 200 species of birds which include the Great Blue Turaco, Mountain Buzzard (Buteo oreophilus), White-spotted Flufftail (Sarothrura pulchra), Grey Parrot (Psittacus erithacus), Bar-tailed Trogon (Apaloderma vittatum) and the Black-and-white-casqued Hornbill (Bycanistes subcylindricus).

The Kibira Forest is home to a number of primate species, including chimpanzees and black and white colobus monkeys.
